Who owns what after a commission.
Ownership & license
Ownership and use rights are set by the per-commission contract both parties accept. By default the artist retains copyright and the buyer receives the license tier selected: Personal (private, non-commercial), Commercial (defined commercial use), or Full transfer (assignment to the buyer).
Artists may show commissioned work in their portfolio only if the buyer opts in. Fan art and other third-party-IP work is limited to the Personal tier (an artist can't license rights they don't hold) and must carry an “unofficial / not affiliated” disclaimer.
